Lleisure’s Eligible Athlete, Nick Wild has hopped the pond, switching from playing basketball in the UK to High School in America.
Previously, Nick was featured heading to play for the England under-18s in Easter 2024, which led to a place in the GB team in June. A flurry of recruitment from the States then ensued, leading to his 2-year commitment to Huntington Expression Prep Basketball, one of the best programmes on the US High School circuit. Nick is now nearly 7 feet tall which has attracted attention from prestigious NCAA Division 1 colleges, Hampton and Fairfield Universities where he now holds full scholarship offers.
Life has certainly been different in the States! Nick thought he was working hard with his club, Derby Trailblazers and then the GB programme, but it’s gone up a whole new level with his team Huntington Ex Prep. Working towards the US High School certificate has been a big change for Nick, but his school, Expression Prep Academy have given him all the support he needs to be successful. Looking forward into the Spring, Nick will be travelling with the Washington Warriors programme who play on the prestigious adidas 3Stripes Select circuit.
