Sunday 4th June saw hundreds of people arrive at Kimberley Leisure Centre for the Kimberley Triathlon. Sponsored by: Sandicliffe – ‘your great motoring family’
Glorious weather greeted the participants as they arrived to take part in a Beginner, Sprint or Junior Triathlon.
Competitors started off with a pool swim. Then headed out around the picturesque areas of Watnall, Greasley and Underwood on their bikes. On their return they set out on a run route around Kimberley. Finishing by crossing the line to the cheers of their family and friends.
The profile of those taking part ranged from complete novices up to Great Britain age group triathletes from the local triathlon clubs.
Race Director, Nik Emmonds from Perfect Motion
“It was great to see so many people getting involved in the Kimberley Triathlon. The mixture of ages and abilities each giving it their all was a great experience and helps to demonstrate how accessible the events we offer are. Whoever you are, whatever your ability level, we have something for you. We just want to see people giving something a try and our aim is to make sure that the first experience they have is a good one.”
