Congratulations and Happy Birthday to local Synchronised Swimming Club, Bramcote AquaStars.
The AquaStars are an extension of the successful and long standing, Bramcote Swimming Club. The AquaStars are thrilled to be celebrating 5 years since the first set of swimmers donned their nose clips and quite literally took the plunge to dive into the world of Synchronised Swimming.
Head Coach Lenka Tanner says, “I can’t quite believe its been 5 whole years already. It has been hard work, but very rewarding to be able to realise my dream setting up a Synchro Club and watching it grow from strength to strength in both numbers and achievements.”
The AquaStars currently have over 60 swimmers who range from ages 6-18 including boys and girls. Swimmers follow an established pathway, from our Intro to Synchro beginner class, to Starlets and then into the AquaStar competitive squads. Lenka Tanner says, “We have seen so many boys and girls stay active by falling in love with this unique sport and we are always keen to introduce it to more swimmers!”
Parent Lorna Middleton says, “AquaStars are a fantastic club, catering for the super competitive to the swimmers whom want to swim more recreationally. There really is something for everyone.”
The Bramcote AquaStars compete all over the country and both the Starlets and AquaStars have the opportunity to compete at local, Regional and even National Level.
In July, they will once again compete at the Combo Cup, at the Queen Elizabeth pool in London, which hosted the 2012 Olympics. March 2020 will also see their 12 & Under and 13-15 Free Teams debut at the National Age Groups Championships in Manchester. The 13-15 Free Team Squad has within it Eve Young whom recently qualified for the England Youth Development Squad. Lenka says, “We couldn’t have been more proud when Eve swam her heart out to hit the qualification criteria for this Squad.” April 2020 will see the AquaStars 15-18 Free Team debut at the National Championships hosted at Harvey Hadden – Nottingham, competing against the highest standard of synchro swimmers in the country.
